Happy New Year From The Blue Door
We begin our 18th year Friday night with Robbie Fulks. As many know we are under
construction as this great remodel by designer and builder Bill Gumerson continues.
The good news is that we will get new restrooms, the bad news is that we are only
able to provide porta potty’s for this weekend. Hopefully by nest weekend they
will be finished. I am gonna start sending out little notices with pictures and
all next week, but I have to tell you it’s gonna be something special.
And the shows will go on!!!
FRIDAY ROBBIE FULKS with guitarist Rob Gjersoe 9 pm $20
Robbie Fulks is a true songwriting legend. He has written so many great songs over
the years that it’s hard to single out any really. “Let’s Kill Saturday Night”
is one of my favorites. From my vantage point Robbie is like the American Elvis
Costello, capable of mixing up styles to suit his moods. Check out his music here

The Cimmaron songbird returns to the Blue Door with a great new album and a wonderful
line up of musicians to help her. Monica is one of the nicest ladies I have ever
met in and out of music and her songs are wonderfully organic, a mix of down home
folk and smart country. Make sure you pick up her new album, “Cotton Shirt” on
sale at the gig. The Queen of the Blue Door, Teena Johnson celebrates her 39th
Birthday so come on out and give the lady some love!!! She puts up with my sorry
ass so that should count for a few presents I would think!!!

An Ian Moore show at the Blue Door is always a great experience. Ian makes you
feel like you are the only one in the room as he plays a wide variety of his music,
from his younger ‘guitar god’ days to his newer edgy acoustic music that rocks
as much as the band stuff. Ian is really an adopted Okie City guy, as he has many
friends here. This will be the last Blue Door show with longtime musical sidekick
Kullen Fuchs, who is moving on to get into some real classic country. Kullen gets
