Dean is open about having led a tough life – addiction, rehab, a father in prison – and reaches deep inside herself to write songs like “Twister” (from Tyre Tracks & Broken Hearts – 2012) of which reviewer Mike Jurkovic (Folk & Acoustic Music Exchange) says “just blows you away”.
