Nellie Clay with John Calvin Abney & Jesse Aycock on Sun, November 29, 2015

Born in Oklahoma, and previously a visual artist working at The Museum of Russian Art in Minneapolis, Nellie spent the last eight years living in Alaska – much of that time, in small rustic cabins without utilities. Nellie credits the solitude and tragedies that accompany life in The Last Frontier with her musical rebirth and subsequent song material – enough to last ten lifetimes.

Acting on a gut feeling and the encouragement of her extended folk family, Clay recently moved to Nashville. The singer/songwriter wasted no time putting a band together and has played favorite local venues including The Bluebird Cafe, The 5 Spot, and The City Winery.
