Longtime friend of the Blue Door, Michael Fracasso, was in a car accident in November, and suffered multiple broken bones in his left hand, resulting in the forced cancellation of months of performances. His presence on our stage has been sorely missed, and the Blue Door family has looked for ways to reach out to him. This year’s Woody Guthrie Tribute night was held for his benefit. Today we had a lovely thank you note from Michael.

Dear Friends,

Over the years I have participated in many benefits as a performer, several of them spearheaded by Greg Johnson at the Blue Door. It is most humbling now to find myself on the receiving end of the largess of the Blue Door fans, musicians and my friend Greg, who organized the event. I am deeply honored and grateful to be a part of this wonderful community of friends, fans and musicians who selflessly give and work to make the arts in OKC flourish and more importantly care for others. As you know from recent events, this world can be a pretty dark place, thank you for shining a little light of kindness on it.

I hope to be back to performing at benefits and concerts soon and am deeply touched that you have given me the opportunity to heal without the added stress of financial worry.

Have a blessed New Year!

Yours truly,

Michael Fracasso

The good news is that Michael is on the mend, and we’re looking forward to seeing him very soon!

John Fullbright is no stranger to the fans and friends of the Blue Door. Now John is getting ready to release his new CD, From the Ground Up, and this is your chance to pre-order the disc and help John show the rest of the country what they've been missing. Read more →

John Fullbright is no stranger to fans and friends of the Blue Door. For the last few months, John has been working on his new CD release, From the Ground Up. It’s about ready to go, and everyone is really excited about it.

Instead of trying to find a record deal for the new CD, even with an indie label, John has decided to set up his own label, Blue Dirt Records, and release From the Ground Up with the distributor, Thirty Tigers, acting as label staff.

Now is the chance to help John get From the Ground Up off the ground!

Three years ago Greg released John’s Live at the Blue Door record, but it wasn’t promoted nationally. This is John’s time to show everyone what we have all loved about his shows and his songs for the last three years.

We’ve set up a Kickstarter campaign in support of John and the new CD, offering CDs, Blue Door tickets, and a special donors-only concert as rewards for contributing. Think of it as pre-ordering the new CD, and helping more if you can.

And as a special reward just for checking out the campaign, you can be among the first to see the premiere music video from the new CD, Satan & St. Paul, on the Kickstarter site!

Thanks so much to all of John’s loyal fans, and please keep spreading the word! John will be playing in Oklahoma, Texas, New York and California for his CD release, and all around the country.
